Shaun Bowler, a political science professor at UC Riverside who's studied California's initiative process, says that's wishful thinking.Īn amendment supposes, "it's just a minor change, it's just cosmetic," Bowler told Business Insider. The proposal to slice and dice California into three states bills itself as an amendment. With a few choice words, the initiative argues that it doesn't need state congressional approval before moving onto US Congress. The ballot measure put forth by Draper, a well-known tech investor, establishes new boundaries for three new states within the existing California and provides the "legislative consent" of the people of California. The state's initiative process lets a vote by the people pass a measure into law, without the blessing of the state legislatures. In some states, two houses of congress need to approve a ballot measure before residents get a chance to weigh in at the polls. My motto has always been, "it's buggy until I understand it." I wouldn't consider the way the color picker shows the colors as expected. Wade, you mean "the color you see is the result of how badly color picker was programmed to work"? If the color picker was color managed it would display only the colors within the limit of the color space of the current document so the user can not choose colors outside of it and then wonder why the colors in the document are not the same. Change the color mode properly to RGB and it will solve your problem. However, if you try assigning another RGB color space for, example Adobe RGB, from Edit > Assign Profile then the color picker will be equally useless as when working in a CMYK document. If you don't have a custom monitor profile you system assigns by default the sRGB color space as a profile of your monitor and since the default RGB mode in Illustrator is also using the sRGB color space then the Color PIcker will show no difference in a sRGB document. Again, as it was the case in the other thread, just switching to RGB mode will not fix the problem from the fact that the color picker is not color managed and will still show a difference even in RGB documents if the monitor profile is different than the profile of the RGB document. Monitor profiles are only RGB and in order to assign it as a color space of your document you have to have your document in RGB mode first. The software should install its profile correctly so there should be no need to manually set the control panel once you are doing this right.I checked the issue and it still did not fix the problemĬhristie if you mean that you tried my suggestion in the other thread, apparently you didn't do it properly. If this change to the Monitor Display profile temporarily fixes the appearance issue, it is recommended that you should now calibrate and profile the monitor properly using a calibration sensor like the i1display pro, which will create and install its own custom monitor profile. Quit and relaunch Photoshop after the control panel change, to ensure the new settings are applied.ĭepending on the characteristics of your monitor display and your requirements, using sRGB or Adobe RGB here may be good enough - but no display perfectly matches either, so a custom calibration is a superior approach. (If you have a wide gamut monitor display (check the spec online) it’s better to try ‘AdobeRGB1998” here instead as it more closely approximates the display characteristics).Ĭlick ‘Start’, type color in the search box, To find out if the monitor display profile is the issue, I recommend you to try temporarily setting the monitor profile for your own monitor display under “Device” in your Windows ‘color management’ control panel to “sRGB IEC61966-2.1”. As the issue isn’t caused by Photoshop, please don’t change your Photoshop ‘color settings’ to try fix it. Photoshop is correct, it’s the industry standard for viewing images, in my experience it's revealing an issue with the Monitor Display profile rather than causing it. The poor monitor display profile issue is hidden by some applications, specifically those that do not use colour management, such as Microsoft Windows "Photos". ![]() The issue can affect different application programs in different ways, some not at all, some very badly. I CAN happen with Macs but with far less likelihood, it seems.] Unfortunately, with Microsoft hardware: Windows updates, Graphics Card updates and Display manufacturers have a frustratingly growing reputation for automatically installing useless (corrupted) monitor display profiles. ![]() The average American household has 25 smart devices connected to Wi-Fi, according to a 2021 survey by Deloitte. So if you live with three people, then 100Mbps is perfect for your home Wi-Fi. You also want bandwidth to support devices that are connected in the background, like smart home tech.Ī good target to aim for is 25Mbps for each person in your household. If you live with a roommate, for example, you need enough speed to support each of your own laptops, smartphones, and gaming consoles. You want fast internet to cover the total number of people and devices that connect to your Wi-Fi. How many people use your internet connection? However, fiber internet providers usually deliver symmetrical speeds, giving you uploads that are just as fast as downloads-with uploads hitting 1,000Mbps or higher on the highest-tier plans. In many cases an internet service provider’s download speeds will be up to 15 times faster than the uploads. ![]() People spend the majority of their time downloading data from the internet, not uploading it, so traditionally uploads have been set at much lower speeds. Uploads involve loading data onto the internet. But some internet plans give you much faster uploads, and fiber connections can deliver gigabit upload speeds. What is a fast upload speed?Ī fast internet upload speed is at least 10Mbps. You likely don’t have any opportunity to use all that power unless you’re involved in some industrial-grade internet activity, like mining cryptocurrency with dozens of computers all on the same Wi-Fi. But it’s expensive and faster than most people need, so it’s not worth it for the average user. It’s also worth it if you share your Wi-Fi with a bunch of roommates or family members.
